At 13, Skyrim gets giant, free fan-made story DLC

Skyrim is an indispensable classic among Bethesda RPGs. The acclaimed game has had several versions since its first release — and, certainly, it also has countless content created by fans of the adventure themselves. The most recent mod, in fact, is a gigantic and free story add-on created by a modder.

O modder F0RCEFI3LD launched a new mod rich in history and simply gigantic for Skyrim Special Edition. Called Olenveldthe free content introduces a new line of unique quests, as well as an island recapture system. It’s certainly the kind of extra that all RPG fans should appreciate. Olenveld, Skyrim’s free DLC, took almost seven years to create

According to the information, Olenveld took approximately 3,000 hours of work on Creation Kit — a free and official editor that allows independent devs to create mods for Skyrim and share them with other players through Bethesda.net. In total, there were almost seven years of development.

Olenveld is referenced in the book “The Exodus” in Skyrim and tells a scary and intriguing story. The small island, located a day away from Winterhold, has long been forgotten and is said to have been used by Tiber Septim as a cemetery for the victims of his conquests.

Em Olenveldyou will not be recognized as the Dragonborn. The island’s inhabitants are so isolated from the mainland that even the main questline of the base game is unknown to them.

You’ll arrive there as a mere mortal searching for answers and trying to understand what went wrong to figure out how to help the island. Here, players can expect to face fearsome undead and waves of relentless enemies.

Of course, just like in the base game, your decisions carry weight and will determine the fate of the island. In addition, it will be possible to encounter new enemies, new equipment and access to a secret and “dazzling” location.

Where to download the free Skyrim DLC?

It is worth remembering that Olenveld It is only functional in the version Special Edition of Skyrim no PC. You will be able to start the mod by going to the Septimus Signus outpost.
