Launched about a year ago in Brazil, the ROG Ally has become a hit among fans of portable consoles, despite its high price. However, Asus has significantly reduced the price of the device in local retail, making it easier to purchase and giving crucial hints that the new ROG Ally X is coming.
Asus has quietly changed the suggested price of the original Ally. Previously, the laptop cost between R$6,000 and R$7,000 on the manufacturer’s official website, but can now be found for R$4,949 or even lower at partner stores. This represents a reduction of almost 20% in the average price of the product.
Compared to its competitors, the price drop could boost sales. For example, the Lenovo Legion Go costs R$6,159 on the manufacturer’s website. Rivals like the Steam Deck and the MSI Claw are not even officially sold in Brazil and there is little expectation that this will happen soon.

ROG Ally X is coming to Brazil ‘soon’
On the other hand, Asus has given many clues that it will launch the long-awaited ROG Ally X in Brazil soon. One of the most obvious reasons for this is the price reduction of the original console, which makes room for a launch with high prices, as should happen with the Ally X because it is an expensive product.
However, when accessing the official ROG Ally X page and clicking on the Where to Buy option, the website lists Brazil as one of the countries where the laptop will be launched ‘soon’. In fact, several other South American countries also appear with this phrase, such as Chile, Peru and Colombia.
With the holiday season just around the corner and major events like the Brasil Game Show just around the corner, it wouldn’t be surprising to see an announcement from Asus in the coming weeks. A launch close to BGS could boost the product’s marketing and be a strong showcase for the brand — but so far this is pure speculation.
