Amazon is working on a series of Wolfenstein

Amazon has been betting hard on game -based productions such as Fallout’s excellent adaptation and the future series of Mass Effect. Now the company has another production in the plans, involving a large shooting IP.

As revealed by Portal Variety, Amazon MGM Studios is working on a Wolfenstein adaptation in standard format. Although not revealed details about the plot, the official description says: “The story of killing Nazis is timeless.”

Wolfenstein fans can also expect a good adaptation, considering the name behind the project. Kilter Films, responsible for Fallout, will participate in the production, being represented by Jonah Nolan, Lisa Joy and Athena Wickham. Patrick Somerville is the one who will act as showrunner, writer and executive producer. Finally, James Altman of Keyframe Films, and Jerk Gustafsson of Machinegames will help as executive producers.

Wolfenstein follows the story of William “BJ” Blazkowicz, an American soldier in a universe where Nazis have won the war. Blazkowicz needs to face enemy forces, which use occultism and advanced technologies to command the world.

We don’t know if the series will accompany Blazkowicz or will bring a totally new narrative with an unprecedented protagonist.
