The negative effect of the focus on artificial intelligence promises to continue to be felt intensely throughout 2026, with price increases in components, especially memory, which could leave many products out of the reach of most consumers.

We’ve already heard reports of possible price increases from companies like AMD and Nvidia, but increases are also expected on Samsung products. However, recent information points to increases much higher than expected, to the point where a 70% increase now appears as an optimistic forecast.

After reports that Samsung will increase the prices of all its memory components by up to 80%, new reports are now emerging that NAND increases will reach 100% due to the forecast shortage of components for the next 8 years. This will have a strong negative impact on products such as PCs, cell phones, consoles, household appliances and even cars.

To respond to high demand and stock shortages, Samsung is preparing a 100% increase in its NAND products as early as January 2026, something it has reportedly already informed its customers around the world. However, these could only be the first increases in 2026.

In addition to the forecast of an increase in early 2026 and another in the second half of 2026 in Samsung’s NAND products, increases are expected in products from companies such as SK Hynix.
