There’s fresh news about the Control universe: Remedy Entertainment has officially announced a new chapter in the saga, Control: Resonant, which will arrive in 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
The game takes us to a different story from the one we saw in Control (from 2019). Instead of following Jesse Faden, the narrative now focuses on Dylan Faden, his brother, someone who spent several years in prison and is now released to face a gigantic paranatural crisis. The city of Manhattan is the new stage for this vision of the world, completely distorted by mysterious forces that defy reality.
Unlike the original game, which had a more linear and closed focus on the Federal Bureau of Control facilities, Resonant wants to give something bigger: an open (or at least more expansive) world in Manhattan, with unexplored areas, side missions and a freer sense of progression. It also promises an evolution of combat and paranormal abilities, with a deeper progression system.
The producers emphasize that you don’t need to have played the first Control to understand the new game, Resonant works as an entry point in itself, although fans will recognize echoes and links to the original title.
Remedy describes this project as the biggest game ever made in the Control universe, based on exploration, action and paranormal powers in a strange and dangerous urban setting.
