Dark Horse has put two incredible vinyl figures up for pre-order inspired by the 1977 animated musical film “The Hobbit.”

The film was released as a television special created and produced by Rankin/Bass and animated by Topcraft. The adaptation of JRR Tolkien’s classic was shown for the first time on NBC and received a Peabody Award and a Christopher Award.

The Bilbo Baggins The Hobbit (1977) Vinyl Figure captures the Bilbo Baggins Thief, at the height of his unexpected journey through Middle-earth, with curly hair, green coat with frayed folds, yellow shirt, belt and his furry feet. The hobbit comes with two interchangeable arms, one with his right hand holding his elaborate pipe and the other with the magical sword Sting.

Gollum The Hobbit (1977) Vinyl Figure reproduces the strange creature, which lives hidden in the dark caves under the Misty Mountains, with an unusual appearance and completely different from the films, resembling a frog, with a large and expressive face, wrinkled skin and ostentatiously large eyes, giving it a strange and slightly frightening look. Gollum, in a hunched and muscular pose, comes with two left arms, one of which has a hand holding his next meal, a fish.

The dolls are made from high-quality vinyl with meticulously crafted sculpting by Phil Ramirez and exquisite painting by JW Productions. The set is officially licensed by Rankin/Bass Animated Entertainment and the figures measure approximately 14.8 centimeters (5.83”) tall.
