Football Manager is a very popular franchise today, but there is a curiosity that many are unaware of: the series is older than it seems, with the first game released in 1982.

Kevin Toms, creator of the 1982 Football Manager, is bringing the game to Steam with the title Kevin Toms Football Star Manager. The game will be released on August 14, coinciding with the beginning of the Premier League season.

It is a faithful recreation of the original game, maintaining the simplicity and without the modern features of the current Football Manager games. A Steam page is already on the air, and unfortunately the game will not be located in PT-BR.

The game trailer jokes that it is “the only Manager Football to be released this year,” in reference to the cancellation of Football Manager 25. The game was canceled by Sega and Sports Interactive, which are focusing on the franchise’s next game.

The original Football Manager franchise ended in 1992, but resumed in 2005 after Sports Interactive loses rights to the name Championship Manager. Since then, the franchise has been new launches to Football Manager 2024.
