A series based on the game God of War is in progress by Amazon Prime Video. The adaptation will skip the Greek saga, directly presented the story of Kratos in Nordic mythology. While fans await some image or teaser of the project, showrunner Ronald D. Moore commented a little what they can expect.
According to the showrunner, the series will try to emulate the same tone presented in the game, with Kratos and Atreus on an emotional trip to honor his mother and wife. However, the series will also explore the whole mystery of who is Kratos and the secrets of their past.
“The tone of the series is trying to emulate the tone of the game, which is this epic journey, this exciting story of two men leaving for something to honor the memory of his wife, the mother of Atreus. So there is this emotional heart, but there is also a sense of history about who Kratos is, this mystery about his past, what he represents, the emotions he is going through. Along the way, with great moments and many things happening in this world. ”
With the series planning to explore Kratos’ past, the question is whether we will have flashbacks showing its time in Greece. In response to this, the showrunner just commented: “Well, maybe … You’ll have to wait to see.”
Although Kratos is undoubtedly the star of the series, the creator states that Atreus will also play a big role. “We have a young man who does not know the father very well and who leaves this mission, and, along the way, they learn about each other”he commented.
