Ubisoft has revealed today that Assassin’s Creed Shadowsthe new chapter of its main franchise, has reached the mark of 5 million players since the launch. However, the performance of the game was not enough to boost the company’s financial results in the last quarter.
According to CEO Yves Guillemot, the numbers were “Below expectations”. The executive explained that, although Assassin’s Creed Shadows has met expectations, the newly released Rainbow Six Siege faced problems.
“The first quarter presented mixed results. On the positive side, Assassin’s Creed Shadows met expectations, with more than 5 million unique players since release, and Rainbow Six Siege x has received extremely positive playback from players, thanks to their renewed gameplay and the detached features, which significantly boosted engagement.
“However, the spending of players in Rainbow Six Siege suffered temporary but significant interruptions due to price -related technical problems that have already been identified and resolved. Although this timely setback, the game’s growth potential remains strong, with good active movement and spending within the game.”
Although I revealed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows Reached 5 million players four months after release, Ubisoft has not yet released official sales numbers. Even so, the company has reiterated that the title was one of the biggest releases in the series and has achieved the internal goals.
Ubisoft has been going through many controversies recently, with its games and decisions being harshly criticized by the community.
