Through social networks, the team announced that, due to the current “Challenging Environment” From industry, it had to dismiss 36 employees. As a consequence, the release of Directive 8020 was postponed to the first half of 2026, still with no date set.
“The game industry remains a challenging and constantly evolving environment. As we adapt our team’s structure to better align these changes, we had to make the difficult decision to start a layoffing process, in which we foresee the loss of up to 36 colleagues.
This decision has not been made lightly, and we know it will be an extremely difficult time for everyone. Our absolute priority will be to offer full support to all affected.
We followed focused on our next projects and decided to postpone the release of Directive 8020 for the first half of 2026. The response to the game so far has been fantastic, and this additional time will help us deliver the best possible experience to our fans. We are deeply grateful for the patience and support of the community. ”
Despite the change in the date of Directive 8020Supermassive confirmed that its other project, Little Nightmares IIIcontinues to be launched on October 10, 2025.
