Number of simultaneous players in Steam does not represent reality, says Nacon

In recent years it has become a standard look to see how many simultaneous players a game has recorded on Steam, if it is a high number, automatically the game becomes a success, if it is low, it can mean it has failed.

However, we must remember that these numbers only reflect active players at a given moment on the Steam platform, not representing the overall performance of the game.

Nacon’s Sébastien Waxin stressed that the Unlimited Test Drive Community: Solar Crown on PlayStation 5 is significantly higher than in Steam, being the most active platform of the game.

“Many players are following the numbers of simultaneous players in Steam because they are the only statistics available. But the Test Drive Unlimited community in Steam is not the largest, and the difference can be very great compared to PS5, which is the most active platform for our game so, we know that people look at Steam numbers because they are the only available data, but believe me represent reality by no means. ”

Sébastien Waxin said Steam’s numbers are not representative, as the largest players base is on PlayStation 5, although only Steam data is publicly available.

For example, at the exact moment of this publication, Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown has a maximum peak of 5,305 players, while 178 people are playing now.
