The Prince of Persia remake: The Sands of Time was announced five years ago, and Splinter Cell’s four, but neither has had great updates since then, generating suspicions whether or not they are still under development.
During Ubisoft’s recent annual general assembly, both games were mentioned, generating expectation, especially among Prince of Persia fans.
An Ubisoft executive said the Prince of Persia remake: The Sands of Time will be released “very soon,” although it has not provided any date.
“As you know, we have some names of iconic brands in our catalog that we can activate or react with little investment,” said Duguet. “This includes the Prince of Persia remake: The Sands of Time, which will be released very soon, or even Splinter Cell later.”
The Prince of Persia remake: The Sands of Time goal is to launch the 2026 fiscal year of Ubisoft, which ends on March 31, 2026. It is speculated that Ubisoft is aiming at the 2025 party season (within the next five months), avoiding dates near Christmas.
In any case, no detailed information was provided on the progress of both games during the Assembly. Splinter Cell seems to be at a less advanced stage, described as arrested in a “development limb.”
