FromSoftware recently launched ELDEN RING: Nightfreg and already works in Duskbloodsscheduled for 2026 at Nintendo Switch 2. However, it seems that the studio already has another project in progress.

According to information from the MP1ST portal, FromSoftware would be developing a new multiplatform game, currently identified by the code name “FMC”. There are still no details about the content of the project, but the site states that it is already in advanced production stage, with chances of being launched in 2026.

FromSoSoftware usually uses internal codenames during the development of its games, although it is rarely clear from what it is about the official announcement. Check out some examples already used by the studio:

  • Dark Souls II – FRPG2
  • Dark Souls III – FDP
  • Dark Souls Remastered – FHD
  • Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice – NTCG E NTC
  • Bloodborne – SPRJ
  • Elden Ring – GR
  • Armored Core VI – FNR
  • Elden Ring: Nightfrgn – Cl

According to MP1ST, the new game is being tested internally and this is not an expansion or DLC. A curious point is that FromSoftware usually uses the letter “F” at the beginning of codenames only in projects related to old franchises, such as Dark Souls e Armored Core. Already unpublished titles receive different acronyms.

Thus, the use of “FMC” can indicate the return of one of its classic series – and fans are already speculating: Dark Souls Is it back?
