The game industry has been facing a major change since last year, with companies announced mass layoffs, such as a recent case involving Microsoft and its game studios.

Now, who can fire is Virtuos, a development studio (and support), which supposedly plans to dismiss about 7% of its workforce, which is equivalent to approximately 300 employees.

The information came from a Gamesradar story, so far just a rumor and not official information confirmed by the studio. Laywriting will allegedly affect various locations of the virtuous offices, spread across Asia, Europe and North America.

Virtuoso

“Origami’s French journalist Gauthier Andres reports that Virtuos is firing about 300 people, or 7% of its total staff, in a reduction plan that will affect units in various regions. The company’s website currently reports that it employs more than 4,200 people around the world, then 7% of this total would equivalent to approximately 294 layoffs, which hits the numbers released.”

Virtuos is known to be a support studio, contributing to remarkable games such as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater, which has not yet been released.
