Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is officially available to players. Even before it was definitely released, it was revealed that only 10 songs from the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 games were kept in the remake.
This information was not well received by the community, as one of the highlights of the franchise has always been its exciting soundtrack, with several known bands/songs.
Originally it was said that Tony Hawk was responsible for choosing the remake soundtrack, but in a new interview, to the BBC, he changed his mind and said he was not the only one to work on the soundtrack.
“I helped a lot at first, suggesting punk rock, hip hop, ska, which was what I played on the tracks when I grew up. The rest was a lot of work from Activision’s musical department, which understood the mood we wanted. In the remakes, I tried to put some bands that I like, like fontaines dc, idles and even an older, x-ray spex. World agreed, but I think it’s important to renew and present new sounds. ”
Regarding Alien Ant Farm, whose songs were not included in the remake, Tony Hawk responded quite “hard,” suggesting that fans listen to the streaming (possibly on Spotify).
“I was not aiming at them specifically. We wanted to make room for new names and new songs, and not everything fits. It’s not personal, I know that a lot of people like that song in the context of our game. So if they want to listen, just put to play in the streaming.”
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is available for PC, PlayStation, Switch, Xbox and Game Pass.
