Since its introduction, Game Pass has generated a lot of discussion about its impact on industry. While some developers, such as Arkane’s founder Raphael Colatoon, say the service would be harming the market, others praise it for the visibility it provides for games – as is the recent Owlcat Games.
Commenting on the arrival of Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader At Game Pass, Owlcat’s director of publications, Andrey Tsvetkov, said the studio was very pleased with the performance of the title on the platform, noting that the partnership allowed new players to know the game in a way that would not be possible before.
“We are very pleased with the performance of the game in Game Pass. The service presented Rogue Trader to many new players who might not have paid attention to the title in another way. Although we cannot share the exact numbers, the level of engagement of players who experienced the game through a game Pass signature is quite significant.”
Owlcat is currently working on a franchise -based RPG The Expansewhich represents a change from the traditional style of the studio by adopting a third -person shooting -focused gameplay, inspired by the series Mass Effect.
However, Andrey says fans don’t have to worry about isometric RPGs, as there is still a lot of passion for this style within the studio. “You can be sure that there is more than enough of highly passionate and qualified Hardcore fans of CRPGs here.”he commented.
