“Girls Horse” game is successful at Steam and records over 50,000 players

You didn’t read it wrong, but recently came to Steam an anime game that features horse girls, playing races. This game in question is the Ummusume: Pretty derby.

Although it is mentioned as “horsepower”, they are actually an anime-style characters, but they are based on a real running horse. Another observation is that we have a Gacha here, where players spend real money to get characters, items and more.

As recorded by SteamDB, Ummusume: Pretty Derby has been very successful at Steam by reaching a maximum of 50,725 players for 3 days, while 32,749 have been playing at the time of this publication.

In addition to Steam, Ummusume: Pretty Derby is also highlighted among streamers. For example, on Twitch the game appears among those with the most spectators (8,800 at the time of this publication).

The game transforms historical running horses into girls with ears and horse tails, maintaining characteristics such as speed and resistance, and competing in tournaments that recreate real events.

UMMUSUME: Pretty Derby was released in Japan in 2021, while the global version was made available in 2025. The game is free to play and does not support Brazilian Portuguese.
