According to new information, the FBI blocked one of the largest ROM piracy sites for Nintendo Switch on July 10, 2025 as part of a police operation.
The lawsuit was authorized by a warrant of seizure issued by the US District Court in the northern district of Georgia, under the copyright infringement law (18 USC 2323).
The operation was collaborated by Fiod, the Dutch agency that investigates financial crimes. The site was a popular repository of Nintendo Switch ROMs, allowing users to play titles on modified consoles or PC emulators without buying them legally.
According to subreddit switch piracy users, the site was still active on the morning of July 10, with downloads hours before the seizure. The site was added to the European Union piracy surveillance list in May 2025.
Nintendo has intensified efforts against piracy, including legal actions against the creators of Emulator Yuzu in 2024 and smaller sites hosting ROMs of old systems.
Nintendo is reinforcing the safety of Switch 2, banishing consoles that use unauthorized SD cards or pirate roms online after the console’s launch.
The FBI and Nintendo did not immediately commented on the site lock.
