Death Stranding 2: On the Beach debuted with a significantly more positive reception than its predecessor, maintaining an excellent 90 average of Metacritic since the launch. However, Edge magazine recently published its analysis, which negatively impacted this average.
In the new issue of the magazine, the game received a score of 7/10, causing its average in Metacritic to fall from 90 to 89. With this, Death Stranding 2 lost the “Must Play” seal, granted to games that reach or exceed the 90 -point mark on the platform.
In its criticism, Edge points out that the game loses some of the initial impact by repeating many ideas of the first title. The missions have been described as very simple, which can make the experience monotonous at certain times. On the other hand, the magazine praises the impressive visuals and the excerpts that require more planning or improvisation by the player.
