
The live-action Lilo & Stitch movie is no joke, as the film is doing very well in theaters around the world and recently set a new milestone.
Lilo & Stitch has surpassed Minecraft as the highest-grossing film worldwide in 2025, grossing $957.6 million globally, compared to Minecraft’s $954.9 million. Both films are the only films to surpass the $900 million mark in 2025 so far.
Lilo & Stitch is in its sixth week in theaters and could be the first film of 2025 to reach $1 billion. In the US, Minecraft leads with $423.9 million, while Lilo & Stitch grossed $403.7 million.

Lilo & Stitch grossed $553.9 million in international markets, compared to $530.9 million for Minecraft. It is the highest-grossing film of 2025 in countries including Mexico ($66.1 million), France, Italy, Spain, Brazil ($36 million) and all of Latin America.
It is among the biggest grossers of all time in markets such as Brazil and Mexico, being Disney’s highest-grossing live-action film in Mexico.
Due to its success, Disney announced the development of a live-action sequel to Lilo & Stitch.
