Funko has released a Pop! Movies exclusive to the excellent film Almost Famous, written and directed by Cameron Crowe in 2000. The soundtrack album for Almost Famosos received the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media.
The Penny Lane Almost Famous Pop! captures the charismatic and enigmatic leader of a group of “band-aids,” fans who follow bands to inspire them musically. The doll comes dressed in costume from the film, including a coat with furry collar and cuffs, ring, necklace, blue glasses and her “tackle box”.
The character was played by actress Kate Hudson and had a free spirit and a deep love of music, she plays a central role in young journalist William Miller’s journey of self-discovery. The doll is made from high-quality vinyl and is officially licensed from DreamWorks and Columbia Pictures. Measures approximately 10 cm (4”) tall.
