Takara Tomy announced a themed version of the classic game Pula Pirata, originally released in 1975, based on the famous manga/anime series Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) written and drawn by Koyoharu Gotōge. The manga was serialized between 2016 and 2020 in the weekly magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump and the anime had 26 episodes aired from 2019 to 2022.
The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Pop-Up Pirate Toy game comes with a classic brown barrel, which holds the female demon Nezuko Kamado, sister of Tanjiro Kamado. The Nezuko Kamado doll comes dressed in a pink kimono with an asa-no-ha hemp pattern and a bamboo muzzle like in the series.
The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Pop-Up Pirate Toy also comes with four colorful swords (the series is all about swords, as we know!) and there are several slots around the barrel. Players insert swords into the spaces one by one, hoping not to hit the space that causes Nezuko to jump into the air and break free.
The game has been officially licensed and is suitable for ages 8 and up. Instructions are in Japanese.
The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Pop-Up Pirate Toy is priced at US$29 at the Japan Trend Shop, which accepts international orders.
