Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio kicked off the RGG Summit this Friday (20) with the announcement of a new adventure in the franchise Yakuza, that will take Goro Majima far away from the streets of Tokyo. Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will be released on February 28, 2025 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
The game is based on action and adventure, not an RPG, like the most recent spin-offs in the franchise. Apparently, Goro Majima’s new story appears to be a direct continuation of Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealthreleased in January this year. Check out the trailer with gameplay snippets:

different from Infinite Wealththe new game in the saga also aims to entertain players with a pirated version of the protagonist. Additionally, the combat feels especially fierce, with Majima wielding dual sabers and having a varied arsenal of abilities.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will be set on Rich Island, where Majima ends up mysteriously. However, the mobster suffered amnesia and can’t even remember his own name.

Accompanied by a boy named Noah, who saved his life on the beach, Majima sets out in search of clues to recover his lost memories. Of course, it’s not long before the big shot finds himself involved in more conflicts against criminals, modern-day pirates, and “other scoundrels.”
New Yakuza will focus on two combat styles
For the first time in the series, you will be able to jump during battles. Players will also be able to freely switch between two battle styles: Mad Dog and Sea Dog. The former is based on fast-paced Yakuza-style combat, while the latter allows players to dual-wield cleavers and use special side weapons such as firearms and a chain hook.

“This may seem a little quirky at first glance, but don’t worry, it will contain the hot drama and thrilling action that are typical of games Yakuza“, said producer Ryosuke Horii during the event. “There is still a ton of unannounced information.”
“For the first time, Goro Majima is the only protagonist in this game,” the developer added. “The battle design is very different. It’s fast and has a lot of Majima’s uniqueness. That’s what we’re going for.”
Furthermore, Pirate Yakuza will include several minigames, such as Crazy Delivery, Dragon Kart, Outfits — and, of course, Karaoke. The game will also feature new live-action content called Masura’s Love Journeyrevealed RGG.
How much is Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii?
In addition to all the details of the game, SEGA has already released the release date and price of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. The game arrives on February 28, 2025 for prices starting at R$299, according to the official Steam page.

The values for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X have not yet been released. However, the tendency is for the game to follow the same pattern and appear in stores soon with pre-order bonuses, which include Ichiban Kasuga as a member of the pirate crew and special outfits.
