Gentle Giant Studios and Diamond Select Toys have announced another incredible bust from the Godzilla Legends in 3D collection to pair with Godzilla 1974 and complete the kaiju duo from the film Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974), which had special effects created by Teruyoshi Nakano and directed by Jun Fukuda.
The Mechagodzilla (1974) Legends in 3-Dimensions Bust reproduces with absolute fidelity one of the greatest enemies of the King of the Monsters, the mechanized and robotic kaiju with its shell imitating silver metal and details such as yellow and red buttons, missiles hidden inside the mouth and yellowish visors.
The mechanical monster Mechagodzilla Legends in 3-D comes supported on a special base imitating the top of the mountain where its control center is located in the film. In addition, on the back of the base there is a small sculpture of the shisa monster King Caesar, a beast that combines dog and lion, and a common enemy of Godzilla and Mechagodzilla.
The bust, in 1:2 scale, is a limited edition of 1,000 numbered pieces, measures 22.86 cm (9″) tall and is officially licensed by Toho. It is made of high-quality resin and designed by Joe Allard and sculpted by Rocco Tartamella. It comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity and packaged in a full-color collector’s box.
The Godzilla 1974 Legends in 3D Resin Bust costs US$200 in pre-order from the Diamond Select Store or from Entertainment Earth, which accepts orders from Brazil.
