The gaming headset market is dominated by giants like Razer and Logitech, but a Brazilian brand is trying to break this hegemony with devices that focus on quality, but without forgetting the competitive price. We are talking about Force One, which sent the Kabuto wireless headset for testing at Voxel.

Available for purchase in Brazil at different retailers, the model in question works wirelessly and can also be used with a cable. The device is sold in black or white and, during our tests, it ended up surprising us with its versatility and cost-benefit.

Unboxing and box contents

The Force One headset comes in a box that is a mix of black and white, following the tones that are present in the headset. The packaging ensures basic protection during transport and also includes several important information about the device, allowing you to know the main features right away.

Inside, the packaging has a black paper support for the headset, which can even be used as a support for the product in everyday life. In addition to supporting the product, this part of the packaging is hollow and has all the product’s accessories inside.

In addition to the headset and manual, the package includes a USB-C cable for charging, a 3.5mm cable for wired connection and a 2.4 GHz wireless receiver. The model also has a detachable microphone included.

Design and usability

One of the great strengths of the Force One Kabuto is its isolation. The headset has cushions that completely envelop the ear and are comfortable to use even with glasses. However, like other models in the category, the leatherette that covers this part of the product can eventually wear out — during about two months of use, I didn’t notice any wear on the product.

The headset also features a lightweight design and height adjustment on the ear pads, as well as colored lights on the sides. Unfortunately, the RGB LEDs cannot be customized, as the product does not have dedicated software.

On the left side, the headset has a rotary volume knob, a power button and a microphone mute button. In addition, there is also an action button, which allows you to pause the music, answer calls and switch between different usage modes — you can switch from a wireless connection via USB to another device connected via Bluetooth.

All the keys have the same shape, so the user needs to “memorize” the positions to be able to use all the functions without causing confusion. Even so, the whole operation worked perfectly once I got the hang of where each button was located.

Removable microphone and wireless connection surprise

One of the biggest surprises I had with the headset was the removable microphone. The accessory can be easily connected and disconnected from the product, which ensures good usability and a cleaner design.

Additionally, the audio capture quality is very good, even in wireless mode. A sample of the microphone audio can be seen in the video below, which was recorded with the Force One Kabuto and received no audio treatment.

Another highlight of the headset is its wireless use and wide compatibility. Thanks to the USB dongle and Bluetooth support, the model can be used without difficulty on PCs, cell phones and also on consoles such as the PS4, PS5 and Steam Deck. Here, it was possible to use the model on all these devices in wireless mode.

The only console that ended up not accepting the wireless use of the Force One Kabuto was the Xbox Series X, as Microsoft is more restrictive about the use of wireless headsets on its consoles. However, it is still possible to use the product on the Xbox via cable, using the controller’s 3.5mm connection.

Battery

When it comes to battery, the Force One Kabuto has a 1050 mAh lithium power supply. The manufacturer promises up to 20 hours of continuous use of the headset, which was achieved here. In wireless modes, the model lasted around 18 hours of use on days of work and gaming.

A full recharge takes up to three hours, according to the manufacturer. Here, using a 50W charger from Motorola, it is already possible to guarantee good autonomy with about an hour of charging.

It is important to note, however, that the headset cannot be used while it is being charged. In other words, as soon as you connect the product to the USB-C port for power, you must leave it still. However, when the battery is out, the model still works in wired mode, allowing you to use it “in case of emergency”.

It is worth it?

The Force One Kabuto is sold in Brazil for between R$400 and R$500, which is an interesting price for the package delivered by the headset. While the model has some basic flaws, such as the lack of RGB controls, the product guarantees a quality experience where it really matters.

The headset is comfortable, provides good quality audio, is multiplatform, has good battery life and has a good removable microphone. With this package combined with the price, the Kabuto is able to easily compete with models like the PlayStation Pulse Elite, for example, for those who play on consoles, in addition to delivering an exceptional experience on PC.
