The game’s plot is set in 1898 at the “notoriously macabre Sker Hotel”, drawing heavily from Welsh folklore. The main focus of the plot is on the folk tale by Elisabeth Williams, which tells the story of a woman whose father locked her in a room to “die of grief” during the 19th century.

Maid of Sker tells the story of a family empire fueled by a “supernatural mystery that takes over the hotel grounds.” The game also has multiple endings, all of which depend on the player’s ability to survive without weapons, manage their time, and remain silent.
