Valve has some big games in its own catalog, but it looks like that list is about to grow. According to leaks, the owner of Steam was supposedly working on a shooter called Deadlock — which has many similarities to the Overwatchfrom Blizzard.
The person who leaked the game’s images on X (formerly Twitter) was content creator Gabe Follower. According to information from the leaker on the social network, Deadlock It will supposedly be a third-person hero shooter that relies on a 6v6 gameplay model.
Another content creator, YouTuber Tyler McVicker, states that the shooter has been in development since 2018 and that it will have a large map with four attack lanes that have tower defense mechanics, as well as various items and skills to use.
Deadlock would be inspired by several different genres, from moba to shooter
The content creator adds that Deadlock will have a fantasy setting “mixed with steampunk, magicians, strange creatures and robots”, as well as “fast-paced gameplay”. He also suggests that experience is a “combination of Dota 2, Team Fortress 2, Overwatch, Valuing, Smite e Orcs Must Die”.
“Hero design very inspired by the universe Dota”, McVicker said. “The main map references the modern European steampunk city (a bit like Half-Life). Initially the game had science fiction elements inspired by Half-Life e Portalbut after bad feedback the development team decided to focus on fantasy.”

Finally, the information suggests that Deadlock will feature fast travel based on floating rails “similar to those of Bioshock Infinite“. Wonder what’s next, huh?
