If you still use a computer with Windows 7 or Windows 8 and play LoL, it’s best to prepare to update your operating system, as in 2024 Riot’s MOBA will no longer run on PCs with these versions.
In a year-end video, Riot developers revealed the update to LoL’s minimum requirements and the end of support for Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 systems. This way, the game will only run on Windows 10 and Windows 11, in addition to MAC.
These updates are essential as we continue to improve the stability and performance of League. We want to ensure that League is accessible to as many players as possible, but continuing to support systems that few people use severely limits our ability to serve the majority of the community.
The change is expected to arrive in patch 14.4marked for February.
