First official Star Trek Tridimensional chess set hits retailers

The chess set was first introduced by Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock in the classic Star Trek episode titled Where No Man Has Gone Before.

CBS Consumer Products is continuing the 50^th anniversary celebrations of Star Trek with the launch of the first official Star Trek Tridimensional chess set.

Launched to the US market on Wednesday, March 9^th, the set is the only authorized re-creation of the chess set seen aboard the starship U.S.S Enterprise.

Taking traditional chess game play to a multitude of new levels, the tridimensional chess set was first introduced by Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock in the classic Star Trek episode titled Where No Man Has Gone Before.

The game has been released in honour of the 50^th anniversary of Star Trek and arrives with a $275 price tag, courtesy of The Franklin Mint.
