Inventor duo MadRat Games “reinvents puzzle sector” with Madzzle

Toy design duo, MadRat Games has embarked on a mission to revolutionise the jigsaw puzzle with an educational range of roll-up puzzles.

The pair have launched a Kickstarter project to raise $25,000 in order to bring its new three-games-in-one puzzle-card game hybrid, Madzzle to market.

A mixture of three different games, Madzzle challenges kids to first create the puzzle, then find objects hidden within the picture depicted on a collection of cards, and finally head into battle with a card game challenge.

Madzzle inventors Rajat and Madhumita embarked on their mission to revamp the puzzle category when they noticed the growing number of children spending much of their free time in front of computer screens.

Computer buffs themselves and having both studied computer science at IIT & Carnegie Mellon University, the pair started MadRat games as an ‘ally to a patient and joyful form of parenting.’

“We design games to help each child discover the ‘mad rat’ inside them, and become calmer, wiser, and happier,” said Rajat.

Aimed at kids aged seven to 14, Maddzles arrive in three themes: Worldopedia, Mysteries of the Amazon and Bermudatriangle.

These roll-up, no-gap puzzles boast an array of additional features. Bermudatriangle comes with a magnifying glass and features micro detail to hunt out, while Mysteries of the Amazon features glow in the dark elements.

Finally, Worldopedia arrives with decoders and counters to decode a number of illusion cards and counters that let kids claim continents to become world leader.

As an added bonus, and supported the Green ethos, each game contains ‘magic beans’ that kids can plant to help replenish the world’s tree population.

“With Madzzle, we wanted to create the perfect solution to inside play,” said the firm. “we have gone through months of prototyping and tweaking to arrive at Madzzle. We even won a parnets choice recommendation, and now we are ready to roll.”

The pair have now secured over $800 of the $25,000 with 33 days remaining on the crowdfunding site to reach the goal.
