Honeyjam named Good Toy Guide’s Retailer of the Month

London independent Honeyjam has been named the Good Toy Guide’s Retailer of the Month for April.

Run by childhood friends Honey Bowdrey and Jasmine Guinness, the store has been awarded the accolade for its dedication to community participation and customer engagement.

Located off Portobello Road, Honeyjam opened its doors in 2006 and offers a mixture of traditional, retro and modern toys.

“We wanted to bring back the experience where you see an exciting product and know that it has more play value than the box,” said Honeyjam’s co-owner, Jasmine Guinness.

“We do all our buying as a team so for us the best part of being in the shop everyday is seeing our customers engaging with their children and laughing together.”

Dr. Amanda Gummer, founder of the Good Toy Guide, added: “It is wonderful to see a small independent retailer engaging so well with their customers and participating in the community events while promoting play to children.

“This is exactly what Fundamentally Children wants to see more retailers doing.”

Celebrating its ninth birthday this September, Honeyjam is teaming with its local market office and suppliers to hold a roster of events throughout the year with crafting, story telling, dressing up and goody bags.
