Nintendo teams with Loot Crate for Amiibo subscription service

Nintendo has teamed with Loot Crate in an initiative to offer subscribers select Nintendo Amiibo figurines in dedicated Loot Crate shipments.

By signing up for the Amiibo Subscription Service, fans and gamers will receive ten pre-selected Amiibo including Mario, Pikachu, Donkey Kong, Fox and Yoshi across three special Loot Crate shipments over Christmas.

The remaining five characters to feature in the Amiibo range will be revealed soon.

Nintendo and Loot Crate have also teased that “a few additional surprises” are in store for Super Smash and Amiibo fans.

Nintendo’s executive VP of marketing, Scott Moffitt, said: “Fans around the country already enjoy Loot Crate’s approach to delivering cool new items every month, and now they have a new and convenient way to get their hands on Amiibo.

“Featuring compatibility with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors this year, Amiibo figures are shaping up to be one of the year’s must have holiday items.”

Chris Davis, Loot Crate’s CEO, added: “We are honoured to be working with Nintendo – a company that our team loves and respects, and that many of us grew up with.

“The iconic Super Smash Bros. games have brought people together for years, and we are excited to become a part of that story in a new way through our Amiibo subscription service.”
