CHF Media Group partners with Carterbench to ensure Pip! spawns successful toys

CHF Media Group has partnered with toy design firm Carterbench Product Development, on all aspects of licensing for its new animation series, Pip!.

The show will be designed for a pre-school audience and the new company formed as a result of the partnership, CHF/Carterbench Licensing, will see the team at Carterbench work closely with the creators of Pip! to ‘ensure every aspect of the programme can be made successfully into toys’.

“We are delighted to form this partnership with Carterbench," said Simon Hall, managing director and head of production at CHF.

"They have an excellent heritage working with many of the world’s leading toy companies and their expertise will be invaluable in developing Pip!

“Children must first engage with the stories and parents have to love the look of your brand if they are to buy merchandise, so it’s vital to understand what appeals to them.

"Working so closely together with Carterbench from the outset of the project allows us to make sure that there is a seamless transition between animation and product.”

Rob Kay, managing director of Carterbench added: ”We look forward to joining the team at CHF Entertainment who have such a rich and well respected heritage.

"Pip! has great appeal and I am happy to say that we have already had some initial discussions with a number of toy licensing companies and the series has been very well received, in particular the seaside location.”

CHF Entertainment is the team behind eighties shows Danger Mouse and Wind in the Willows, and this new series will feature Sir David Jason as the voice of Pip’s caring uncle, Skipper.

Pip! is set in the town of Salty Cove and features creatures including Mouse Pirates and Puffins. The show is scheduled to air in the UK next year.

"Pip! has so many aspects to it that children will enjoy. The storylines are exciting and have a familiar family feel. Pip! himself is a character that boys and girls can relate to," continued Hall.

"The next 12 months will be an absolutely manic time and it’s our intention that as the series goes live, children will be able to take Pip! and his friends into their hearts in myriad ways.”
