Toy Shop UK reveals Independent Toy Awards 2013 winners

Toy Shop UK has revealed the winners of its 5th annual Independent Toy Awards, a ceremony celebrating the best toys for parents to but their kids this Christmas.

Gold, silver and bronze logos have been awarded in each of the 20 categories to the company’s as voted for by the nation’s independent toy retailers.

Achieving top spot, the Gold Winners are:

App Toys – LeapPad Ultra (Leapfrog)

Collectable – Moshi Monsyers Micro theme Park PLayset (Vivid)

Construction – Evolution Crane truck (Meccano)

Creative – Necklace and Bracelet Charm Kit (Pippin Kits)

Dolls – Lottie (Arklu)

Eco – 5 in 1 Activity Cube (EverEarth)

Educational – Roald Dhal Brainbox (Green Board Games)

Electronic – InnoTab 3S (VTech)

Game (Board/Card) – Bananagrams (Bananagrams)

Game (Action) – Silly Moo (John Adams)

Jigsaws – Animals of the World Jumbo Puzle (Mudpuppy)

Licensed – Dinosaur Train Roar ‘N’ React Boris T-Rex (Tomy)

Outdoor – Arctic Force Snowball Blaster (Goldfish and Bison)

Radio Control – Combat Creatures (Wow! Stuff)

Role Play – White Vintage Kitchen (KidKraft)

Soft – Sorgenfresser Worry eaters (Coiledspring Games)

Special Needs – something Special Mr Tumble Interactive Toy (Golden Bear)

Wooden – Road and Rail Set (BigJigs)

The directory’s founder Michael Hawkins, said: "we’ve been blown away by the interest this year, both from our listers and especially from toy suppliers who now recognise the Independent Toy Awards as the most credible in the industry."
